Back in January, I asked God what He had in store for me this year. And the theme He showed me was “Upgrade.” Sure enough, the last 8 months have been full of changes that turned out to be upgrades.
In May, we retired my 1994 sedan and got a brand new 2016 model. Upgrade. Next month, we will leave the place we’ve been for the last 8 years and move into a newer house. Upgrade. What happens in the natural echos the Spiritual. At the same time, God has been challenging me to replace my old and limiting mindsets with new Spiritual insights. Upgrades…in progress.
Dealing with perspective shifts and a house move at the same time is an ironic coincidence only God can arrange. He seems to be using the house move to show me just how fragile my sense of Peace and Faith is still. The move has been full of happy and unhappy surprises. And with each step, I am learning to dig out that little mustard seed of faith and pray through it. Every week feels like a new roller coaster ride… exciting and fun at times, and emotionally exhausting. And so I have decided to take a short break from posting on Sabbath Cafe to focus on the moves… both internal and external.
The house move should be finished in a few weeks, and I expect to also learn many insights about God through this process. This is not because of any special gifts on my part. Rather, it seems to be the way God has been moving this year. I appreciate your prayers for me and my family during these next few weeks as we transition. And I look forward to sharing my process with you when I return.
Blessings and Shalom,
